My flight was cancelled and they kept my money. Total scam. Avoid at all costs, don't go for the deal, they'll just take your money.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I found a mistake on the date right after I hit the button and contacted to them, trying to change the date. No change accepted, no refund either. I ended up paying $1000 for nothing! Bad service...

i am waiting 2 months already for the refund...if you are in the same position i suggest to file complain with US DOT and BBB.(i did)..before You book anything on trip.com check BBB rating!!
Quick customer service n a quick refund as well especially during covid
Worst experience ever. Still so confused and scratching our heads wondering why Trip.com is trying to steal our money. We spoke to numerous representatives at both Trip.com and the airline. The airline told us that we are eligible for a refund and even sent Trip.com a note clarifying that we are eligible, however, Trip.com has done absolutely nothing but say that they have zero control over what the airline can approve and states that the airline just cannot approve a refund. We do understand that the airline processes the refund but the agency has to submit the request. It does not make any sense when the airline is saying we are approved but the agency is saying we are not. Something doesn't add up here. The airline told us we are eligible for airline vouchers however all the agency would need to do is submit the request. Well, after 2 failed attempts on Trip.com's end and saying there is absolutely nothing they can do, here we are still waiting for a refund. PLEASE NEVER BOOK WITH TRIP.COM, absolute worst experience I have ever had to deal with. We still have yet to receive our refund and this would be our THIRD time requesting for them to submit it. The airline even walked me through how to do it on the phone, very straightforward and easy to submit. I can't unfortunately do their jobs for them so I will just have to wait and see if or when we ever get a refund.
PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE ADDITIONAL STRESS.

I tried to book a room with trip.com, gave my payment information, but then they wanted to send me a code for verification. The code didn't come right away, so I clicked "Resend" multiple times to no result. There was a box that said "cancel," so I canceled and booked with another company. Next thing I get an email from trip.com that my booking is confirmed. I tried to call, and got the runaround. I then called the other party to see if I could cancel with them, and despite the fact I had completed the booking with them, they very graciously canceled, which is what trip.com should have done instead of giving me the runaround.
We booked a trip for march 2020 for 3 people.Decided not to go because of government warning about covid.Canadian government ordered air canada to refund all tickets for people who choose not to travel.Trip.com says they will not refund us that Air Canada has to.Air canada says we must go through Trip.com.We just want vouchers for future travel.
I used Trip.com to book a hotel room. I put in the dates, booked the room. Immediately I noticed the dates were incorrect, how this could happen I was unsure as I have booked hundreds of hotel rooms online (I travel a lot) and this has never happened with any other travel site I have used. This was my first time using this company. I contacted them immediately, literally no more than seconds after seeing the dates were incorrect. They said they would contact the hotel and see if I could cancel and rebook for the correct dates and they would call me. Thirty minutes later I get an email saying, "they attempted to call me, but no one answered the phone", LIARS! Considering my phone was in my hand the whole time... the email continued on, "the hotel would not cancel and reschedule". I called the hotel directly, as I am a regular customer with them, they said they were never contacted by Trip.com. Unfortunately since I had booked through that company, I would have to go through that company to change everything, but they would be happy to allow a cancellation and a rescheduling of the correct dates. Trip.com will lie to you and keep your money. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST... LITERALLY!
Usually (but not always) a bit expensive then booking. Site and app is convenient.

THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS PURE AND SIMPLE. THEIR WHOLE SERVICE MODEL IS JUST BASED AROUND LIES. IT TOOK 374 MESSAGES, 167 PHONE CALLS AND FINALLY LEGAL ACTION FOR ME TO OBTAIN A REFUND AFTER AN AIRLINE CANCELLED MY FLIGHT.

This is a scam company. STAY AWAY from Trip.com. Just like the Chinese government, they are corrupt.
